We all Scream for ISO-CREAM

EDITOR’S NOTE: This article is about a discontinued product. At this time we have no plans to bring it back.

Making its way to the BSL product lineup is something to be very excited about, especially if you are fit-minded (which I am assuming you all are), and have a raging sweet tooth. ISO-CREAM is a high protein ice cream, available by the pint in three different flavors, from the Blackstone Labs website.

Here’s why you need to be excited about ISO-CREAM:

The Flavors

Going beyond your traditional ice cream flavors, ISO-CREAM comes in three different varieties:  Chocolate Chip, Vanilla Cookie Dough, and Mint Chocolate Chip. Each flavor has its own special something, while going beyond their descriptions to bring something unique to the flavor party.

Awesome Macros

If you are like me (and most people, I think), then you’re more concerned with the macros per pint than you are per serving. The average pint of ISO-CREAM (which contains 3, ⅔ cup servings) will only set you back 270-90 calories, 7-8g of fat, and around 16g of carbs. More importantly, it will provide you with a whopping 38 grams of protein – a number many of the “mainstream” brands can’t touch.

So, how does it compare to other “Fitness Ice Creams” on the market?

For starters, it is the first protein-enriched ice cream made by a supplement brand that specializes in protein. You could theoretically replace a meal (or snack, if that’s how you roll) with a pint of ice cream, and not hurt your diet in the least. ISO-CREAM is lower in sugar and carbs, but higher in protein than its competitors. The ingredients list reads nothing more than milk, cream, vanilla, and BSL’s Isolation Whey Isolate. No freaky science-experiment worthy names in the formula, at all.

The packaging is pretty nifty too, if you ask me. I rather appreciate the fact that these come in what looks like mini protein tubs, complete with a screw-cap lid. I can see myself repurposing and reusing those.

Besides having the best macros out there, ISO-CREAM tastes more like “real” ice cream than other brands I’ve tried. You won’t quite get the creaminess you’d get from regular ice cream, but you will get the creamy, authentic flavor.
